We are writing to share an important update regarding our Temporary Crisis Accommodation Scheme for international students in NSW. 

Since June 2020, the NSW Government through Study NSW and Service NSW has supported almost 5,500 international students through this $20 million scheme.  

This measure has provided a safe home, comfort and support to international students facing hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. ​

Applications for the scheme will close at 5:00pm, Friday 12 February 2021.

International students who apply on or before the application closing date may be eligible for up to 20 weeks accommodation with our student accommodation and homestay providers. 

If you’re an international student currently placed in the scheme, your current arrangements will not be impacted.

Other support services available to international students 

Study NSW remains committed to supporting international students across Sydney and NSW. If you need assistance, the following support services are available:

• Access free 15kg food hampers through our Foodbank partnership. Over 62,000 hampers are available to international students in NSW. Each hamper is valued at $80
   
• Free legal support and advice through our International Student Legal Service NSW at Redfern Legal Centre
   
• Download My Legal Mate for free legal support in seven languages ​
   
• Visit our International Student Welfare Services Hub
   
• Access mental health and wellbeing support
   
• Get involved with our Summer engagement program (includes virtual internships, farm jobs and more!) ​
